Welcome to a new year at Bowie Junior High!
This is the homepage of Ms. Green's world famous World Geography class.
"The world you live in today is much smaller than the world of your grandparents 100 years ago"
In today's every changing world, it is important to understand the many varied cultures that exist around us. We come into contact with more cultures and people than we ever have. Transportation and technology have allowed us to experience others in a matter of hours and at the touch of a button. We can converse with people halfway around the world instantly and at any time. As we become a more global community, we must be as sensitive to the values and traditions of our new neighbors from other countries as we are to the neighbors next door to us. The goal of world geography is to introduce you to the cultures of others be they your literal neighbors or your virtual neighbors.
And now for a little about myself.
I grew up in Odessa. I attended Crockett Junior High and then went on to graduate from Odessa High School. I continued my education at Texas A&M University and graduated with a BA in History with a minor in English. I then went on to get my teaching certificate. I then returned to Odessa to embark upon my teaching career. That was 16 years ago. After a year of substituting, I got an 8th grade English position at Bowie Junior High and have been here since. I have worn many teaching hats since then-one of which involved Math:(- before I settled in with Geography.
