In Geometry, students will develop reasoning and problem solving skills as they study topics such as congruence and similarity, and apply properties of lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. Students will also develop problem solving skills by using length, perimeter, area, circumference, surface area, and volume to solve real-world problems.
Students will primarily use the newly adopted McDougal Littell textbook. This book is also available on CD-rom for students to check out, as needed. Students will utilize various forms of technology, including TI-83+ or TI-84 calculators and the TI-Navigator system.
Students in this course will take their grade level Math TAKS test in April. Sophomore students will take the PSAT test in October, as well.
