Announcements

  • LUNCH

All Middle Schools in ECISD made the decision to not allow any outside food or drink be dropped and off and/or brought in during the lunch period for students.  Students may also not bring any outside food or drink into the cafeteria during breakfast.  Students may bring their lunch with them to school and/or eat the food provided by the cafeteria during lunch and/or breakfast.  Unlike elementary, we have over 300 students eating in the cafeteria at one time, and the monitoring of federal guidelines that we are mandated to follow is quite a task with this many students.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding of this request.  This information was shared wth parents during the 6th and 7th grade Ranger Camps this summer, but there was not chance to share this information with our 8th grade parents.

  • WELCOME BACK!

Thank you, Ranger parents and students for a fantastic first week back!  The hallways are full of pride and positive energy.  I can already tell that this is going to be an awesome year.  I also want to thank you as we continue to work out the kinks with schedules and the daily procedures.  As a reminder, we will hold our Ranger Morning Assembly in the North Gym each morning at 8:30 a.m. Although the actual school day does not begin until 8:35 a.m., this morning meeting provides us to time to make announcements, say the pledges, and partcipate in a moment of silence.  This time also gives us to time to acknowledge and celebrate success, as well as keep us conected as a campus family.

I also wanted to ask for your patience and caution as we dismiss in the afternoon.  We are currently in the process of having crosswalks repainted on 38th Street and the bus zones repainted on Tom Green (cars may not park in the bus zone and must not pass the busses when they are loading or unloading).  Parents have the option of using the drop-off and/or pick-up lanes in the front, and this traffic should flow more smoothly after everyone gets used to the routine.  If you park on the street and your child walks to your car, please remind your child to use the crosswalks and be very careful.  My staff and I are trying our best to direct traffic and help students get home safely.  Again, your patience and watchful eye during the time is so much appreciated!  Our kids are precious, and I don't want them to get hurt due to carelessness in the parking lot by adults.

To accompany the ECISD Student Code of Conduct and ECISD Student Handbook, I plan to create a parent handbook that will include campus expectations, procedures, and any other information that I believe will help you as parents. I will send home a hard copy and will also post this handbook online.  My goal will always be for parents and the school to work together in an effort to provide our kids with the best education possible.  I want kids to be happy, to feel valued, and to learn as much as they possibly can.

I am looking foward to many great things this year!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Martin
