District Police Information
The District Police Department is comprised of the Chief of Police, 2 Lieutenants, 3 Sergeants, 26 Patrol Officers, and 2 Tele-Communicators, both of whom are licensed Tele-Communicators through the State of Texas. The department also has two experienced investigators assigned to investigate both criminal and administrative investigations within the district. District Police Officers are empowered by the State of Texas to perform all Police-related enforcement. Primary duties of the District Officers include enforcement of all federal, state and local laws as well as Board Policy. Officers are primarily assigned to patrol elementary and secondary instructional campuses as well as all other ECISD facilities. These patrols are accomplished on foot and by vehicle. Activities include proactive patrol, contact with students, faculty, and staff, as well as response to calls for service and enforcement of the law. District Officers work at athletic events throughout the District, as well as School Board meetings, graduations, proms and dances, continuing to provide a safe environment for students, faculty and staff.
