Principal's Message

    Principal Message:

AEC/ECYC will promote a diverse and challenging structured approach to our students.  We pride ourselves with being able to serve our students with academic support and transforming them through learning.  We believe every student deserves a quality education and experience.  At AEC/ECYC we have some of the best teachers and staff to work with our students.  We work to teach our students Responsibility, Self-Awareness, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Decision Making Skills that will help them in their future endeavors.  Our goal is to develop our students to be productive members of society.  Together we can make a difference!

Though you cannot go back and make a brand new start, my friend anyone can start from now and make a brand new end”…..              James R. Sherman

AEC Transition

ECISD Alternative Education Center Transition Program

In an effort to minimize recidivism and maximize success after students return to their home campus, the AEC created a transition program.  Often the students feel frustrated, making it more difficult for them to get a fresh start.  The students also feel disconnected from their home campuses and are at risk for truancy or dropping out.

The goal of the transition program is to maintain a student-campus connection and ensure that the student is successfully enrolled at their home campus at the end of their term with us.  The transition team will reinforce and encourage student progress and help to problem solve any issues or problems that may arise.

Each week, a team of AEC teachers, counselors, and/or administrators will visit the home schools of students who have been released.  During each visit, the transition team will review attendance, grades, and discipline.  Each team will visit the student, on their home campus, at least three times.
