Katy Ochoa, Principal

I am a native of Atlanta, GA and have lived in Texas for 19 years. I attended Catawba College in North Carolina where I received my Bachelors in Theatre Arts. I then received my Masters in Theatre Education from Emerson College in Boston, MA. I taught high school theatre for 6 years  before trying my hand as an elementary school teacher. I fell in love with elementary and taught 3rd grade for several years before becoming a Math Specialist and then Assistant Principal in Midland. I followed my husband, Hil, to ECISD and Ireland Elementary has been my home as Principal for the last 2 years. 

I have two sons, Wes and Will, who both attend school in ECISD and my husband is an Assistant Athletic Director for ECISD. 

I am so excited to be back this coming year at Ireland. Getting to know the families and students of our community has truly been a blessing. The teamwork between home and school is the key to our success and growth as a campus and Ireland has that strong connection!
