About the Teacher
    B.F. Carter
I was born and raised in Odessa, Texas.  I attended Travis Elementary, Crockett Junior High School, and I graduated from Odessa High School in 1979.  I attended the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and obtained my B.S. in Earth Science and Biology in 1985.  I began my teaching career at Bowie Junior High School in August of 1985 and have been here for my entire career, 34 years.  I enjoy traveling and have had the pleasure of exploring the rainforests of Panama, Ecuador, and Brazil.  In fact, my wife comes from Ecuador and we visit there as often as possible.  We both enjoy traveling and exploring new places as well as working together on projects around the house.  I even enjoy teaching her how to use power tools and I'm proud of her many accomplishments.
I consider my occupation as one of the most rewarding jobs a person can have.  I'll never get rich doing what I do, but the people I've met along the way, coworkers and students, have benefitted me in ways that monetary rewards cannot.  I can only hope my students experience the same rewarding life they have blessed me with .
