Meet The Team
After receiving her bachelor’s degree from UTPB in 1989, Mrs. Andrea Martin began her teaching career in ECISD as a 5th grade teacher at Murry Fly Elementary. She continued to teach 5th grade in the district for ten years until approached with the opportunity to serve as a Campus Curriculum Specialist. Although never anticipating that she would ever leave the classroom, the idea of having a positive impact past the classroom level was intriguing. This new role began her journey to obtain her master’s degree, which she obtained in 2000 from Sul Ross State University. She immediately began her administrative career, which included serving as an assistant principal and then a principal at the elementary and secondary level for a total of 16 years. In 2016-2017, Mrs. Martin served as Leadership Consultant at ESC 18. Although she expanded her knowledge at the regional and state level during her time at the service center, she was elated to return to the district level in 2018 where she currently and proudly serves as one of the Executive Directors of Leadership.
Mrs. Alicia Press became an Executive Director for Elementary Leadership in early 2019. Prior to joining the ED team, Mrs. Press served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in the Ector County Independent School District. She has devoted her career to ensuring every student receives the highest-quality education from teachers and school leaders that share a relentless pursuit of excellence. Mrs. Press believes that every child deserves a champion and an opportunity to thrive.
Mrs. Press earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. She earned her master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Texas Permian Basin, and plans to complete her doctoral studies in 2021 from Texas Tech University.
