Degrees and Certifications:
I’m looking forward to this school year with your student. I grew up in Kermit TX, home of the Yellowjackets where I also graduated from Kermit High School. I received my Biology degree at UTPB and have been teaching at Permian ever since. My family and I still live in Kermit and I commute to Odessa. My husband and I have 4 kiddos in our household: my step-son who is 18 years old, my 17 year old brother, my 10 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I absolutely love Biology and love my career. Teaching is a calling and is very rewarding. I expect the absolute best from myself as a teacher and in return expect my students to give me their absolute best.
Biology is, to put it simply, the study of life. We will be studying living things, what makes up living things, and how living things function and survive. Biology is important so that we understand how living things, like you and me, function, but also to understand the world we live in. Biology has allowed us to understand diseases, medicine, and finding ways to keep our biosphere beautiful.
