Questions & Answers for staff raises

One of the priority areas of the Tax Ratification Election included raises for all employees. Now that the TRE has been approved, you may have questions regarding your increase. We tried to anticipate those and have posted answers here. We have also provided an e-mail address for you if this does not cover everything.

When does the raise go into effect?

Raises will be retroactive to the first day worked in the 2018-2019 contract.

When will I receive back pay?

You will receive a separate check aside from your regular December 21st paycheck. Your back paycheck will be December 31st.

How will I receive the payment?

If you have direct deposit, it will be deposited into your account the morning of December 31st.

If you receive a cashable check, it will be mailed on December 31st.

I would like to begin direct deposit, what do I do?

Submit your direct deposit form to Payroll by November 30th. Here is link for the direct deposit form located on our Payroll Department website –  https://www.ectorcountyisd.org/cms/lib/TX01000975/Centricity/Domain/55/forms/DIRECTDEPOSIT.pdf

Will any deductions come out of this check?

Yes, Teacher Retirement System (TRS) and taxes.

When will my monthly paychecks reflect the raise?

The remaining amount after back pay has been paid, will be divided between paychecks for the rest of the 2018-2019 contract year.  You will begin receiving the amount of the pay increase on the January 31st paycheck.

I'm resigning at the end of the semester. Am I eligible for the TRE increase?

Yes. You will receive your back pay on December 31st.

If I receive a stipend for extra days, will I receive back pay?

    Yes, you will.

If I have stipend that is not tied to days will I receive back pay?

    No.

I have additional questions, what do I do next?

A series of examples is listed below. If you have more questions, we ask that you submit them to this e-mail address: TRE2018@ectorcountyisd.org. They will be answered as quickly as possible. We ask you that you do not call the Payroll Department, as they will not be doing pay calculations for individuals over the phone.
