  • AP CHANGES 2019-2020
    1. This Spring

    Teachers of each AP subject can access details on what to expect in 2019-20 on AP Central.
     Teachers will be able to preorder their free 2019 CED binder.
     Principals begin communicating new AP Exam ordering deadlines, policies, and fees to students and parents for 2019-20.

    2. Late May
     New informational videos and interactive, self-paced online modules for teachers become available. Teachers can begin updating their course plans with unit guides, if they choose to do so.
     Teachers can access new and updated CEDs on AP Central, along with video previews of the AP Classroom system.
     The AP Course Audit opens for 2019-20, a few months later than usual. Teachers should review subject-specific details on what to expect on AP Central.

    3. Before the School Year

     Comprehensive in-person workshops for coordinators on registering and ordering begin.
     Week-long AP Summer Institutes for teachers begin.
     2019 CED binders are available. Teachers can preorder a free copy now.

    4. August 1
     AP Classroom and AP Registration and Ordering open.

     Principals and coordinators receive an AP Registration and Ordering system access code that enables the AP coordinator to log in and complete the AP participation form.
     Teachers explore the new resources available and prepare to use them with their students.
     Live online AP Registering and Ordering training sessions for coordinators begin.
     One-day AP teacher workshops begin.
     Online modules for coordinators about how to use the new system launch.
     Coordinators create class sections for all classes in the Registration and Ordering System.
     Principals communicate new AP Exam ordering deadlines, policies, and fees to students and parents for 2019-20.

    5. Fall 2019
    First week of class
     Teachers log in to the system and receive join codes for each of their class sections, either from their AP Coordinator or directly, through AP Classroom. Teachers distribute join codes to students and students join their class sections.

    AP CHANGES 2019-2020
    6. October 4
     Preferred deadline for coordinators to review registration rosters in the system, make needed changes, and confirm and submit an AP exam order. Orders may be updated and resubmitted without additional fees until the final deadline.

    7. November 15, 11:59 p.m. ET
     Final deadline for coordinators to submit an exam order. No payment is due until June. Exams can be ordered or canceled after this date, though a fee applies in some cases.

    8. Winter 2020
    Exam administration live online sessions begin.

    9. January
     Coordinators create class sections for spring semester classes and adjust rosters.

    10. January 17, 2020
     Deadline to submit accommodations requests and documentation to Services for Students with Disabilities.

    11. January 31, 2020
     Deadline to submit a new AP Course Audit form and course materials, if applicable, for 2019-20 AP Course Audit authorization.

    12. Spring 2020
    March 13, 11:59 p.m. ET
     Deadline for coordinators to submit exam order updates, including late registration, spring course orders, and fall order changes. (Fees may apply.)

    13. April
     Schools receive personalized student registration (AP ID) labels and AP Exams.

    14. April 30
     Deadline for coordinators to update the AP Fee Status information (I.e., eligibility for a College Board fee reduction) for their students in the AP Registration and Ordering System.

    15. May
     Schools administer AP Exams.

    16. June 15
     Schools return exam fee invoice with payment.

    17. Summer 2020

     AP Exam scores are released.
