ECISD Energy Mangement
-
Mission
The mission of the ECISD Energy Management Program is to save money and energy through the conservation and efficient use of natural gas, water, and electricity, while maintaining a safe and comfortable learning environment.
-
Goals
- Change the way staff thinks about energy and its usage to reflect an attitude of conservation.
- Maintain the comfort and safety of the learning environment.
- Use our utility resources wisely.
- Achieve at least a 25% reduction in our energy bills.
-
History
In May, 2012, the ECISD Board of Trustees approved a partnership with Cenergistic (formally Energy Education), a firm whose mission is to help organizations reduce their overall utility usage and operations cost by providing a combination of tools, training, technology, engineering and analysis that are guaranteed to reduce energy costs. Projected cost savings during this partnership will be over $10 million over a ten-year period.

Savings
Total avoidance from April 2012: 25.9%
Total savings from April 2012 to June 2020: $13,199,532
-
Conservation
Our conservation efforts have reduced CO2 output by 53,601 metric tons which is the equivalent of 11,167 cars taken off the road each year, the CO2 absorbed by 1,374,374 tree seedlings grown over a 10-year period.
