Travis Career & Leadership Academy
-
Boasting a rich history and tradition as a school nestled in the heart of a small community in south Odessa, Travis Career and Leadership Academy has been a choice school since the 1980’s.
Once featuring Communications as its choice school theme, advances in technology, as well as signficant changes in student and community interest, brought Math and Science Labs to center stage at Travis. With the birth of 5th Grade Ambassadors program in 2019-2020, the new Travis Career and Leadership Academy has emerged in which leadership, math, and science are interwoven throughout our campus community.
The focus at Travis is to develop students who thrive by pursuing their unique interests, and who are prepared to navigate their future workplace, become active citizens, and take on global challenges. Our students will become the next leaders of our community and country.

Curriculum
Travis Career and Leadership Academy is designed as an intermediate campus composed of only 3rd-5th graders, which allows for highly focused curriculum and instruction delivered by quality educators.
In our Math Lab, students are provided real world math exercises where they learn problem-solving and life skills. Students receive highly-engaging instruction and use number sense strategies and methods to build understanding of math concepts.
Our Science Labs enrich the learning that is already taking place in our classroom environments. Through hands-on activities, students are encouraged to think critically and apply the concepts they are taught in the classroom.
The Travis Leadership Lab is designed to promote leadership opportunities which strengthen character and the intellect of our students through learning effective communication skills and making connections with community and college early in their educational career.
