About Mrs. Hill(Mrs. Hill when she was in first grade)
Mrs. Hill was born and raised in Odessa. She graduated from U.T.P.B. with a B.S. in History with a certification in Elementary Education. She just completed her 32nd year teaching in the Ector County Independent School District. Previously, she has taught at Zavala Magnet School and Austin Elementary School in grades 1, 4, 5, and 6. She also taught reading in the Chapter 1 Program--which is now Title 1. She was married to Thomas Hill for 34 years. He passed away in 2009 after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hill has two adult sons: Matt (who used to teach at Jordan) and his wife, Sarah, who live in Franklin, Tennessee (outside of Nashville) with their sons; ten year old Wyatt and six year old Walker and their daughters three year old Lilly and infant Madi. Jordan and his wife, Lindsey, live in Overland Park, Kansas with their sons; nine year old Jacob and six year old Harrison and their daughter, one year old Caroline. Mrs. Hill has two younger sisters, one who teaches next door to her at Jordan--Mrs. Taylor! Her youngest sister lives in Temple, Texas with her family. Mrs. Hill's mom is a volunteer in both our class and Mrs. Taylor's class --running off papers, helping students with make up work and other helpful duties. Her name is Mrs. Rice and she has been known to bake goodies for the class from time to time.
