Phase-in Plan: Phases V-VII
As ECISD leaders continue to monitor the current health situation in our community, we are seeing trends that allow us to announce plans to begin eliminating the hybrid option that has been in place as part of the transition period. We will continue our phase-in with the addition of Phases V, VI, and VII which will begin on October 19. On the 19th, students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9 can return to school in-person five days per week. Seventh and 10th graders will follow two weeks later on November 2, and finally 8th, 11th and 12th graders come two weeks after that on November 16.
These plans will allow us to have more students in-person every day in a careful approach that lets schools gradually adjust and maintain the safety protocols we have successfully used the past eight weeks. The District’s goal is to place every student in a classroom with a teacher every day, however, some schools may continue with learning labs due to space limitations. We encourage parents to contact their child’s school with questions.
Please be assured, all of our safety practices will remain in place. Students are expected to self-screen themselves for symptoms before coming to school each day; face coverings are required for all students 4th grade through 12th grade and recommended for all younger students, too; frequent handwashing will be promoted; and the District’s cleaning and sanitization schedule will emphasize high-traffic and high-touch areas.
Thank you for all of your patience and your support during this very challenging year.
