Mrs. Jiménez has been an educator for 23 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature with a minor in secondary education from the University of Texas at El Paso. She also has two Master’s Degrees from Sul Ross State University in school administration and reading. She has been a teacher, Reading Specialist, Assistant Principal, Dean of Instruction, Principal, and Director. Her experience in leadership extends from elementary, middle school, high school, and Central Office. She also has experience in working with Alternate Schools and Early College High Schools.
Mrs. Jiménez began her journey as an English teacher in El Paso, Texas. After being a teacher for five years, she became a Reading Specialist for a low-performing high school. She eventually became an Assistant Principal at that same high school. She then became a Dean of Instruction for a new credit recovery high school. Her administrative career continued in the traditional school setting until she became the Director for an Early College High School for a school within a school. She then became a Principal at the secondary level. More recently, she was a Director in a neighboring district where she coached principals on best practices and supported the lowest performing schools. She then volunteered to take over the lowest performing elementary school and work collaboratively with the staff to provide students with a learning environment that would lead to student academic growth and success.
Mrs. Jiménez is excited to now be a part of the Ector County ISD family. As the Director of Planning and School Choice, she is excited to support the application and timeline of admissions through a streamlined district process in order to increase equity and access to families and students to high quality programs offered through ECISD.
