Public Education Grant (PEG)
The Public Education Grant (PEG), authorized under the Texas Education Code, has identified campuses eligible for the PEG program. Campus identification was based on the preliminary 2025 Accountability Ratings, in which campuses scored below 60. If your child is enrolled at a PEG-identified campus, you have the option to apply for a PEG transfer and have your student attend another campus for the 2026–27 school year.
Campuses on the 2026-27 PEG List (based on 2025 campus ratings):
- Edward K. Downing Elementary
- Lee Buice Elementary
- Pease Elementary
- Crockett Middle
Children attending these schools are eligible to transfer to a non-PEG campus, space permitting. For more information or to apply for a transfer, please contact Students Admissions at 910 N Lee Ave, or by calling 432-456-8890.
Please note: A student’s eligibility for a PEG transfer expires upon any of the following conditions:
- Completion of all grades served by the PEG-listed campus upon which eligibility was originally based;
- Zoned assignment of the student to a campus that is not on the PEG list as a result of redrawn attendance boundaries or student movement into a different attendance area.
