Advanced Academic Services provides support, training, programing, and guidance to schools, teachers, families, and students to ensure that gifted and talented students have the opportunity to engage in exceptional, differentiated, and rigorous learning, to explore their strengths and talents, to experience advanced academic opportunities, and to achieve their highest potential. 

 

 

 

Scholars in Progress is ECISD's program for kindergarten - twelfth grade students who have been identified as gifted or talented, as defined by the Texas Education Agency. As such, these students receive support and services provided by Advanced Academic Services. 

 

 

       

Advanced Academic Services supports advanced coursework in middle school and high school including: Honors, International Honors, Advanced Placement, and the International Baccalaureate Programme.

 

 

     

 

Advanced Academic Services supports campuses and students in preparation for taking the SAT and the PSAT National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  All eighth grade and tenth grade students take the PSAT each year.  As juniors, students have the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT and compete for scholarships as well as designation as a National Merit Scholar. Finally, all juniors and seniors take the SAT.
