New CTE Center
New CTE Center
The new CTE Center would be the home campus for 400 full-time students. It would also serve an additional 2,000 students at various times throughout each day as they travel back-and-forth from Odessa High School, Permian High School, and New Tech Odessa taking CTE elective courses.
Currently, ECISD offers Career & Technical courses at 7 different sites. A new facility would allow the school district to consolidate many existing programs under one roof, add new CTE programs, and improve safety and support for those students.
The New Tech Odessa building, which originally opened as the Career Center in 1995, is now New Tech Odessa high school.
The new CTE Center would work in partnership with Odessa College to offer students opportunities for dual credit, certifications and degrees, and would be available on nights and weekends as a training center for the Permian Basin’s adult workforce.
The Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP), a consortium of 21 of the biggest oil and gas companies in the Permian Basin, has pledged financial support for a new CTE Center, should it be approved by voters.
Additionally, by moving existing CTE courses out of New Tech Odessa, an NTO middle school program would be added as a Middle School Choice option to enhance the NTO program.
