Texas Public Information Act Requests

Ector County ISD’s Communications Department coordinates Texas Public Information Act (TPIA) responses. In accordance with the law, all public information requests must be in writing. The written request should identify the records needed and should indicate a mailing address, phone number, or other means to contact you regarding your request. There is not a specific form required for submitting requests.

Requests for public information may be delivered by hand, sent by mail, or sent by email to CommunicationsDept@ectorcountyisd.org.

The request must ask for records or information already in existence. The Act does not require the district to create new information, to do legal research, or to answer questions.

Certain information is protected from disclosure under the exceptions in the Texas Public Information Act, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other constitutional, statutory or judicial decisions.

Please be advised that there may be a charge for the requested information.
