Human Trafficking
Human Trafficking Awareness Month is in January. Human trafficking is illegal and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or sex act. Every year, millions of people are trafficked worldwide and in the United States. It can happen in any community and victims can be any age, race, gender, or nationality. Traffickers might use violence, manipulation, false promises, or relationships to lure victims into trafficking situations. The information provided on this website is intended as an outreach support and is not intended to replace calling 911 for an emergency situation. Please call 911 if there is an emergency.
