Meet the Leadership Team

 

Dr. Keeley Boyer - Chief of Schools

Dr. Boyer joined team ECISD in August 2021. Before joining ECISD, she served as a Regional Superintendent in Portland Public Schools for 3 years, leading a region of 35 schools in Oregon’s largest public school district. Prior to Portland Public schools, Dr. Boyer spent 13 years in Houston ISD in several campus roles, including high school teacher, high school assistant principal, and middle school principal. She also served as a School Support Officer in Houston ISD, leading and supporting a group of 15 schools that included elementary, middle, K-8, and high schools.

Dr. Boyer earned a bachelor’s degree in History and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M- Texarkana. She earned her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Texas at Austin and was a Cooperative Superintendency Program Fellow.

Mauricio Marquez

Mr. Mauricio Marquez- Executive Director of Leadership

Mr. Mauricio Marquez became an Executive Director of Leadership in July 2022.  Mr. Marquez has served the Ector County ISD community for the past 24 years.  His career began as a teacher at Ector Jr. High.  He then joined the administrative team at Ector as the Magnet Program Director.  He served as the assistant principal at Burleson elementary prior to becoming the principal at Blackshear Magnet Elementary.  After serving three years as the principal at Blackshear, he became the principal at Crockett Jr. High where he spent seven years supporting the Crockett community.  His last five years have been spent leading the Odessa High campus and supporting the OHS learning community.

Mr. Marquez earned his associate’s degree from Midland College, his bachelor’s and master’s degree from The University of Texas Permian Basin.

Anthony Garcia - Executive Director of Leadership

 

Mr. Anthony Garcia- Executive Director of Leadership

Mr. Anthony Garcia has been a part of the Odessa Community for 14 years, beginning his educational career in ECISD in 2008 as a teacher/coach at Crockett Middle School. He has also served the Lubbock ISD community as a teacher/coach, before returning to Odessa as an Assistant Principal at Odessa High School and Crockett Middle School. As a campus principal in ECISD he served Wilson and Young Middle School for three years and Odessa High School for two years. Going into his 17th year in education Mr. Garcia will be serving as an Executive Director of Leadership.

Mr. Garcia earned an associates degree from South Planes College, his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Dr. Maggie Aguilar

 

Dr. Maggie Aguilar - Executive Director of Leadership

Dr. Aguilar joins ECISD with over 35 years of experience in education, all of which were in Socorro ISD.  She served as a Bilingual/ ESL teacher for 10 years across all grade levels. She also served as an early childhood, elementary, and secondary principal for over 15 years.  Other leadership experiences include Bilingual Instructional Specialist,  Bilingual/ ESL/ GT Director, as well as becoming Socorro ISD’s first School Improvement Officer.  She has a track record of improving academic outcomes for students.

Dr. Aguilar earned both her bachelor’s degree and master's degree in education from the University of Texas at El Paso and earned her doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from New Mexico State University.

 

Ms. Maribel Aranda- Director of Administrative Services

Ms. Aranda began her educational career with ECISD 31 years ago as a PE Aide at Jordan Elementary. She then served as a teacher at Travis Elementary School for 5 years before transitioning to school leadership.  Her 4 years as Assistant Principal were at Noel Elementary and LB Johnson Elementary.  She later led Cavazos Elementary School and Crockett Middle School as Principal.  She joined the Leadership Department as the Director of Administrative Services following 15 years of successful school leadership. 

Ms. Aranda earned her bachelor’s degree and master's degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
