RTI (Response to Intervention)

Response to Intervention (RTI) within the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework is designed to give early and structured help to students who are struggling academically. The main goal is to identify students who need extra support as soon as possible through regular screenings and progress checks.

RTI uses a tiered approach:

  1. Tier 1: All students receive high-quality classroom instruction.
  2. Tier 2: Students who need extra help get targeted support.
  3. Tier 3: For students who continue to have difficulties, intensive and personalized support is provided.

These interventions are based on proven research, ensuring they are effective. The RTI approach includes ongoing evaluation and adjustments to improve support strategies. It involves collaboration among teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement the best strategies for each student. Research shows that RTI can improve academic performance, reduce special education referrals, and enhance teaching practices when applied correctly.
