Selection Process
Applications are screened on a rolling basis during the application window. Once your application and transcripts have been submitted, it will be screened for basic eligibility requirements, including degree completion and GPA. If you meet those requirements, you will be contacted to schedule an in-person interview. If you pass the interview activities and are admitted into the program, you will receive notice of your acceptance via email.
Application Process
Are you ready to join Odessa Pathway to Teaching? Follow the instructions below to take the next step:
- Apply - Tell us about yourself, your education, and your experience.
- Request Transcripts -Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended are required to be admitted to the program, but unofficial copies may be used to determine your eligibility to interview.
- Take the TOEFL Exam (if needed) - Are you an international applicant? Visit our Eligibility and Admission page to determine how to demonstrate English language proficiency and if you need to take the TOEFL exam.
Interview Process
Our mission is to put the best teachers possible in front of our students. During your interview, our team will ask questions about why you want to teach and assess your potential to become an effective educator. The interview consists of the following activities:
- Q + A - Have questions about the program? We are here to answer them. During the interview you will have time to ask clarifying questions and learn more about the structure and expectations of our program.
- Interview - You will meet with members of the Odessa Pathway to Teaching team, either in-person or virtually, answering questions about your experience, future goals, and mindset around education.
- Applicant Processing – During your interview, Odessa Pathway to Teaching staff will guide you through the background check process. Completing this processes by the shared deadline ensures you’re eligible to enter classrooms during Pre-Service Training and the school year.
Requesting Transcripts
While unofficial transcripts are acceptable for interviewing, official transcripts are required to be formally admitted to the program. You may send transcripts in two ways - official hard copies by mail or official e-scripts via email. E-scripts are faster, cheaper, and our preferred method for receiving transcripts, but we are happy to accommodate whichever method best works for you.
