Canine Unit

ECISD Police Department has a 4 dog canine unit. K-9 Odin a Czech Shepherd, handler is Omero Carrasco and K-9 Maze a Belgian Mallinois, handler is Darrell Fowler, both canines joined the department in 2020. K-9 Oden and K-9 Maze are certified in locating weapons. K-9 Bane joined the department in 2022, handler is Officer Matt Gonzales, K-9 Bane is certified in detecting the odor of illegal narcotics. K-9 Simba joined the department in 2023, handler is Officer Jonas Anzures, K-9 Simba is certified in the odor of illegal narcotics. It is the goal of the ECISD Police Department to reduce the presence of illegal drugs and weapons on and around District property through effective utilization of the Canine Team.
