Meet Deborah Johnson
Since 1985 I've been a teacher in Ector County ISD. I have taught kindergarten, Chapter One Reading, and taught third, fifth, and sixth grades as a cluster teacher for "Gifted and Talented" students.

After earning my GT-teaching certification, I was privileged to teach Scholars in Progress (SIP) students at Jordan four days a week and upper grades at Ireland one day a week during the 2010-2011 school year. 2011-2012 I was privileged to teach 3rd and 4th grade SIP students from six campuses.  2012-2013,  I taught
3rd and 4th grade SIP students from eight campuses: Hays, Jordan, Austin, Cavazos, San JacintoDowling, Gonzales, and Blanton elementaries.  2013-14 and 2014-15 I taught 5th and 6th grade SIP students from Dowling, Cavazos, San Jacinto, Blanton, Gonzales and Hays. 2016-2017 I taught the 5th grade SIP scholars from Dowling, Blanton, Gonzales, San Jacinto, and Hays and 3rd grade scholars from Hays.
Since the 2017-2018 school year I have been teaching 1st- 5th grade SIP scholars from Hays only.  No matter what my position, I have loved teaching children and sharing my love of learning.

My passions include working with children, learning, reading, writing, running and spending time with my husband, son and daughter & son-in-law, and four wonderful little grandchildren.
