    Teaching Experience

Hello!  I am Barbara Digby. I am the SIP (Scholars in Progress) teacher for the 5th grade at Ireland Elementary.  I taught one year as a long-term substitute.  Next, I taught 6th grade at Noel Elementary for 5 years.  This is my eighth year at Ireland as the Scholars in Progress teacher.  It has been a wonderful experience, and I look forward to the upcoming year of teaching our wonderful scholars.

    Family:

I have been married to Larry for 31 years, and he is my perfect match. We have a "yours, mine and ours" family. It consists of 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.  We have been truly blessed with this wonderful combination of families.  Our family would not be complete without mentioning our animal "children".  We have 3 dogs named Mickey, Hailey and Minnie. We are definitely one "big, happy family".

    My Philosophy of Teaching:

I believe every child has the heart to learn. My hope is to instill, within the hearts of all students, an eagerness to become life-long learners.

My measure of success, as a teacher, will be knowing that each and every student has felt valued as a voice within my classroom.
