Welcome to the National Junior Honor Society
The National Junior Honor Society is a nationally recognized service organization used by most schools of higher education in consideration for enrollment and schlorships. Membership is open to all 8th grade through 12th grade students who meet the academic standards.
In ECISD, membership becomes available to all 8th graders that maintained an 85 or above average during their 7th grade year in all core classes; academic requirements increase with entry into High School.
Yearly induction takes place each spring, and students who meet the high academic requirements are notified by invitation to participate. In order to keep their memebership in this organization, students are required to (1) perform a minimum of 6 service hours every three months and (2) maintain passing scores is all classes. Failure to maintain these requirements will result in probation and/or loss of membership.
