Montessori at Austin
It is our goal at Austin Montessori to cultivate each child's natural desire to learn, acquire and master skills, learn responsibility and cooperation and foster strong, positive feelings about oneself and others. The Austin staff is committed to developing the whole child; alongside academics we value developing the students’ social, emotional and artistic personalities as well. This is accomplished through our multi-age classrooms and authentic, hands on learning environments. We also value providing a community feeling among our students, faculty, staff, and families.
How Montessori looks on our campus:Students’ ages are 3 to 12 years old in grades Pre-K through 6th grade.
Multi-age classrooms are found at each level, including:
Early Childhood (3 year olds through Kinder)
Elementary I (1st & 2nd grades, 3rd grade)
Elementary II (4th through 6th grade)
Students are chosen by a lottery selection process (BEGINS IN FEBRUARY for following school year).
All students in Ector County ISD are eligible & invited to apply.
Bilingual classes are available at all levels.
Teachers are Montessori trained & certified.
Austin students attend school wearing standard attire.
Ultimately, the Montessori method looks to follow the child by guiding and nurturing the learning process. At Austin Montessori we follow the Montessori method while integrating the district initiatives into our program to best serve our students. The staff members at Austin Montessori work to ensure that our students are not only being successful in school but also growing into outstanding citizens of our community and world.
