Highly Qualified Status Parents Right to Know

(Included in Ector County ISD Student Handbooks under “As a parent, you have the right…”)

Parents have the right:

• To request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s teachers, including whether the teacher has met state qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction; whether the teacher has an emergency permit or other provisional status for which state requirements have been waived; and undergraduate and graduate degree majors, graduate certifications, and the field of study of the certification or degree.  Parents also have the right to request information about the qualifications of any paraprofessional who may provide services to their child.

 Lospadres tienen el derecho de:

• Parasolicitar información sobre las cualificaciones profesionales de los maestrosde sus hijos, incluso si el profesor ha cumplido con los requisitos estatales ylicencias criterios para los grados y materias en la que el maestro proveeinstrucción; Si el maestro tiene un permiso de emergencia u otro provisionalque se han renunciado los requisitos del Estado; y carreras de grado delicenciatura y posgrado, certificaciones y el campo de estudio de lacertificación o título. Los padres también tienen derecho a solicitarinformación sobre las calificaciones de cualquier paraprofesionales que puedeofrecer servicios a su niño.
