Mrs. Kyle, counselor at OCTECHS, is beginning her 5th year with ECISD. She has been in education 25 years. Of that 20, she taught elementary music for 11 years and she has been a school counselor for 14 years. Mrs. Kyle was also a drug and alcohol counselor for 3 years at an adolescent facility in Oklahoma.
When Mrs. Kyle is not counseling students on career and life choices, she enjoys teaching piano and working with the children's choir at church. She and her husband Tom enjoy leading the married couples ministry at their church in Midland and renovating their "fixer upper" home. Tom is a teacher at OHS and between them they have four children: Trey, Jason, Joshua and Sias; and two grandchildren: Austin and Aurora.
Because Mrs. Kyle advocates being a lifelong learner, she is currently enrolled at UTPB to complete her licensure hours for Professional Counseling, with a goal of going into private practice.
Mrs. Kyle believes that parents can launch successful people into the world through firm but kind discipline, listening to their children, and being their support system when they face life's difficulties. Mrs. Kyle is available to listen to students - and parents!- as they navigate the unique opportunity that is OCTECHS.
