Our Ector County ISD Board of Trustees is working with the firm Hazard, Young, Attea, & Associates to conduct a national search for a new superintendent of schools. This page is devoted to that search, and the school board’s desire to include as many people from our community as possible.
The first step in this search process is to build a Leadership Profile of traits and qualifications the community wants in the next superintendent. To that end, the link below is to a Community Survey. You are invited to participate in that survey.
In general terms, the ECISD Board of Trustees is seeking a superintendent who has the ability to provide leadership within an environment committed to academic excellence; college & career readiness; safe & supportive learning environments; and purposeful, timely, two-way communication.
The superintendent will serve the varied educational needs of approximately 33,000 students with a qualified and dedicated staff of nearly 4,000 across 44 campuses.
The Ector County ISD Board of Trustees seeks an individual who has demonstrated the ability to improve academic achievement in a diverse district and possesses the leadership skills required to advance this district to its next level of excellence.
In the coming weeks, the search firm will conduct interviews, and focus groups to glean more information. Once all of the information is collected and the Leadership Profile is complete the recruitment, interview, and selection process will take about two months. A calendar of dates will be posted here when it is finalized.
