ECISD announced 2024-25 Employees of the Year

These 15 team members set an example of excellence in their daily work

Throughout May, Ector County ISD leaders surprised this year’s 15 Employees of the Year by showing up unannounced and presenting the winner with a large poster announcing the honor, an award, and a check from the Education Foundation of Odessa.

“These awards are meant to honor the best of the best this year,” said ECISD Superintendent Dr. Keeley Boyer. “Excellence is the standard. Excellence in service to our students, our families, and to each other. These employees live that out and we proud of them and they work they do.”

This year’s ECISD Employees of the Year are:

Elementary Teacher of the Year – Patrick Flores, LBJ Elementary

Secondary Teacher of the Year – Carlos Rabaneda, Bonham MS

Elementary Principal of the Year – Jennie Chavez, Noel Elementary

Secondar Principal of the Year – Amy Russell, Bowie MS

Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year – Samantha Natividad Ramos, Goliad Elementary

Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year – Efrain Moreno, Odessa HS

Paraprofessional of the Year – Anna McMeans, LBJ Elementary

Counselor of the Year – Pete Mauro, Bonham MS

School Nutrition Employee of the Year – Melinda Vega, School Nutrition office

Transportation Department Employee of the Year – Carol Porras, bus driver

Nursing Services Employee of the Year – Delilah Toribio, Dowling Elementary Nurse

Maintenance Department of the Year – Christy Erwin, Permian HS

Custodian Department of the Year – Roosevelt Allen, Nimitz MS

Professional Employee of the Year – Jessica Dominguez, Digital Technology

Police Department Employee of the Year – Officer Greg Hammon
