Community Captain program is sponsored by Chevron and the Dallas Cowboys, will benefit victims of sexual assault

The Community Captain competition is a partnership between the Dallas Cowboys, Chevron, and the Abell-Hanger Foundation. It challenges student teams to design and present a community service project in collaboration with a local nonprofit. Permian’s proposal was selected as the top project across the region, earning a $10,000 grant to bring it to life.

The winning project focused on supporting trauma victims by creating ready-to-go Comfort Kits filled with essential items. The event brought together representatives from Chevron, Abell-Hanger, the Crisis Center of West Texas, and two Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, including PHS alumna Julissa Garcia.

Odessa High SIP students also joined the effort, contributing their time and support to the cause.

Thank you to all who helped make this event possible—and congratulations again to our PHS SIP team for their leadership and success.
