STRATEGIC PLAN PROJECTS

• Systematize Social Emotional Learning

  ECISD will build a district-wide awareness and commitment to develop, implement and integrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives districtwide acquiring and applying the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions. Additionally, ECISD will develop an adult collective understanding and shared vision of SEL that creates systemic change where SEL can thrive and advance educational equity and excellence through authentic school-family-community partnerships.

• Smart Badge

  The ECISD Transportation Smart Badge is a student ID that contains a Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) chip allowing students to quickly tap on/off their school bus(es) in order to track routes and ensure safety and security of students on ECISD school buses. The badge is able to support additional functionalities that will be explored after implementation of the badge for transportation.

• Systematize Equity Based Funding

  ECISD will systematize equity based funding which allocates non payroll budgets to schools based on student population and individual student needs so that schools can serve students with the appropriate support and resources.

• Incorporate Modified Zero-Based Budgeting

  ECISD will incorporate modified zero-based budgeting which allocates non payroll budgets to departments based on prioritized needs and specific requests so that departments provide intentional and effective support services.

• Develop Long Range Facilities Master Plan

  The LRFP will bring our facilities up to date through a long range building replacement cycle.

• Develop Efficient Systems to Increase Productivity in Operations

  By developing and implementing efficient operational systems, ECISD District Operations will ensure improved facilities and operational processes, therefore elevating the student, staff, and community experience in our buildings and on our buses.

• Attain Data Interoperability

  Achieve accurate, accessible and timely data for district analysis.

• Earn Trusted Environmental Seal

  ECISD will make adjustments to current practice that will enhance district processes that ensure student and business data security and earn the national Trusted Learning Environment seal.

• Establish District Technology Standardization

  Modernize tech standards by establishing a mobile device standard and equipping classrooms/spaces with a wireless canopy.

• Provide Home Internet Connectivity

  Ensure all ECISD students have broadband access at home.
