ECISD hosts Summer Band Camp
ECISD Summer Band Camp
June 17-21, 2013
The focus of this camp is to encourage students to continue their pursuit of musical enjoyment and new challenges. The ECISD Summer Band Camp offers one week of band instrument instruction and ensemble performance. The staff consists of the band directors of Ector County ISD, local professional musicians, and a band clinician with a strong record of success in the band environment. This year our clinician is Mr. Dan Gibbs from Monahans.
WHO CAN GO
Any student who has completed one full year of band may attend. The camp is attended mainly by students who have had one or two years of band.
The Registration and Consent form and payment can be mailed in before JUNE 1ST. After this date, turn in your registration and release forms with payment to your band director.
The non-refundable cost of this five-day camp is $50.00. Cash or Money order is preferred. Checks must have driver’s license number on it. This pays for tuition, a T-shirt, music, lunch at Mr. Gatti’s, and snacks. Please make payable to HOOD BAND BOOSTERS.
Daily schedule runs 9:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. We will provide snacks each day, but not main meals, so students should eat before they arrive. Each day the students will rehearse with their section and then rehearse with the full band. Friday evening we conclude the camp with a concert at 6:00 p.m. All family and friends are invited.
The camp will take place at Bonham Junior High School. On Thursday students going to Mr. Gatti’s must provide their own transportation to and from the restaurant. Students must be picked up by 2:00pm. Directors are not able to leave students at the restaurant to be picked up at a later time.
On Thursday, campers are invited to Mr. Gatti’s on Grandview for lunch and games. Entry is paid for. Transportation is on your own. Extra game tokens are on your own.
A release form must be signed by the parent or guardian and on file at the camp office before students will be able to participate in the ECISD Band Camp.
Students are expected to be on good behavior. Unacceptable behavior will be grounds for dismissal from camp at the discretion of the camp directors. Let’s all have a good time!
For additional information, please call the HOOD JH Band Director at 456-2809.
Leave a message and they will call back.
NOTE TO PARENTS
There will be a concert given on Friday night where we anticipate ALL parents will be in attendance. We hope you will tell everyone you know as well so that we may all get to hear and enjoy the progress these students have made in only one week!!!
