Cameron Dual Language Elementary honored for transforming learning

Tuesday afternoon, the staff at Cameron Dual Language Elementary received a long-awaited recognition as one of the 2020 Schools Transforming Learning award winners presented by N2Learning Group. Cameron Elementary was one of seven Texas public schools to earn this distinction for making strides on their journeys to provide innovative learning opportunities for all students. The award was to be presented at the Principals’ Institute last summer, but the conference was held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions. Eddie Coulson from N2Learning traveled to Odessa to present the award in person at Cameron's staff meeting.

"There are a lot of bright stars out there, in terms of campuses in terms of what they are doing but there are some that shine even brighter and Cameron Dual Language Magnet is one of those that really shines bright,” said Dr. Coulson. “The work that you do makes a difference today, yesterday and it will make a difference tomorrow."

Nominations for the honor were open to campuses led by any of the more than 450 Principals' Institute participants or alumni who represent more than 80 Texas public school districts.
